The Week Out of Town (Part 2 Our Trip)

We were waking up from my grandparents' house and my parents were telling me to get ready.  I asked, "Why?" My parents said that we had to go to Thiruvendipuram, a city in India to get Samaasrayanam and Baaranyasam, a process to initiate a person into Sri Vaishnavism and surrender to god.  My sister and I climbed into the shuttle/van while my  grandparents, other relatives and parents loaded the suitcases since we would be staying there for 2 days.  When everybody was in the van and the van started moving, my sister and I made up a handshake.  My sister slept most of the time, though.  I was scared because in India the rules for the road are not as civilized as the U.S.A.  The driver went on both sides of the lane and veered just in time for another truck would have hit it.  I spoke to my grandparents about school too.  Finally, we reached Thiruvendipuram and we went to Ahobila Madam, the place where Azhagayasingar, the guru of one of the sects of Vaishnavism.  After that, we stayed at Parakaalamadam and Andavan Ashramam, places just like Ahobila Madam but for a different sect.  In the morning, we went back to Ahobila Madam and Azagayasingar did Samaasrayanam to my parents and Baranyaasam to my parents, my sister, and I.  Finally we turned back and went to Kumbakonam, another place in India.  We stayed in a hotel there called Raya's Grand.  We woke up the next morning and left to my grandparents' house.  When we came home we were very tired so we slept.

The Week out of Town (Part 1 The Plane)

We were in the car going to the Chicago airport.  We were going to India, my parents' homeland.  My sister and I kept asking,"Are we there yet?"  "NO,"my parents would answer.  Finally, when we reached the Chicago airport, we had to wait until our flight reached the airport.  When the flight did reach, we boarded.  Our pilot said,"Flight is about to take off.  Please put your seatbelts on."  The destination was Frankfurt, Germany.  My sister and I were playing pretty much the whole time.  When the flight landed in Frankfurt, my sister vomited two times and she started crying because the landing hurt her ears.  It was surprising because my ears did not hurt at all.  When we entered the airport, my sister vomited one more time.  We boarded again to Chennai, India.  This flight served Asian Vegetarian food for dinner, lunch and breakfast.  My sister got tummy aches from the food, though.  Finally, we reached India and all of our relatives were there to see us.  We went straight to my paternal grandparents' house.  We were all tired.

How I got into AC (Accelerated Challenge)

I was in third grade when we got our Quarter 4 report cards.  At the bottom right-hand corner, it would tell which teacher you had for next year.  Throughout my second and third grade years, my parents were pushing me very hard to try to get into AC which was the accelerated challenge.  In AC you study 6th-grade math and reading.  You also do a lot of projects.  When I got my report card, the teacher it said at the bottom right-hand corner was," Keele."  I was so excited.  I was technically the only one out of 27 people in my class that was in AC! I went home and my parents were literally jumping with joy.  We celebrated too.  I think that would have been the most exciting moment of my life.

How I Learnt to do A Pullover on the Monkey Bars

I was at the playground with my friends when we were playing on the monkey bars.  We were trying to do gymnastic routines with stunts on the monkey bars.  My friends were Anushka, Ananya, Ishita, Annabelle, and of course, me!  Anushka was the conductor, Annabelle and Ananya were partners, and Ishita and I were partners.  When we entered the playground, Ananya was already there and she showed me a stunt she made up.  She stuck her feet up in mid-air through the spaces in between the monkey bars.  I said that she gave me an idea to do another stunt.  I tried to pull myself over the monkey bars but my hands would have twisted. I let go and quickly turned my hands over and pulled myself over.  My friends were cheering loudly.  It was a great day!

The Story of my Printer

Hello everyone!  It has been a very long time since I have posted on my blog.  I am currently nine years old.  I have a lot to share too.  This is one out of my many life experiences that I am about to share with you.  I am in AC now so I have to do a lot of things.  When we were in the middle of doing one of my projects, I had to print one of my papers on cardstock.  We had a printer at home that printed on paper only so we went to Office Max to print on cardstock.  They could only print in huge cardstock so we went back home.  We had cardstock and a printer so we put the cardstock in the printer but the printer just got stuck.  We had to technically unassemble the printer!  I came up with an idea to slide the bottom part out and we took the ruined paper out.

Moral of Story: Never ever put cardstock in your own paper printer.

The pig and the squirrel

Once upon a time there was a mean pig who acted like king of the pigs. At the same time there lived a squirrel. One day the squirrel came to the pig`s house to teach the pig a lesson. The greedy pig opened the door and said ‘’who are you’’ The squirrel replied I am the pretzel man. The pig said ’’ can I have a pretzel ‘’. The squirrel said if you share. The pig really loved pretzels so he shared with everyone soon he forgot his own greediness and became a nice pig.

Holiday World

On Friday we we went to Holiday World for my Birthday. We went on a roller-coaster that my dad was scared of. Then we went on something called the scrambler. It was scary at first, then we got used to it. It went very fast it almost hit the walls, I leaned on to my mom named Sree, my sister named Reethi leaned on to me. Then  went to a water-slide. It was very fun. The place the water slide was called the Hina Falls. Then we went on a fun boat ride called the Watubee (watoobee). We tilted this way and that and got splashed with water everywhere. Then we went to tubing in the Bahari River . My dad was not comfortable on the boat ride. I was swimming and pulling my mom and my little sister too. Then we went to a swimming pool called the Waves . My mom taught me swimming. Soon I knew how to swim underwater too. Then we went to some water park. Me and my sister went on a slide and when we came down our dad caught us. Then we went to someplace called the Kima. There was a bucket full of water on the roof that dumped on the ground after twelve seconds. There was also a waterslide that when you came down you fell into water.
